BANK OF AFRICA - Resource #19 FINANCIAL INCLUSION

OUR CONTINENT,
OUR FUTURE

Access to the banking system, a crucial factor in the development of African societies

The average rate of banking in sub-Saharan Africa is 10 %*. This very low level of financial inclusion compared to the rest of the world acts as a considerable brake on sustainable growth.

Economic growth cannot be sustained without the establishment of a financial infrastructure to underpin it. The more basic financial services are available, accessible, and affordable to the population, the stronger and more distributed growth will be.

In order to contribute to the development of access to banking services, BANK OF AFRICA is constantly widening its branches network (1800 branches today). The bank aims to be closer to the public and offer affordable banking solutions, catering to different needs, while strenghtening online and mobile banking services, the backbone of banking services access development in Africa.
